As the host of the Inaugural BlaqOUT Conference 2014, the University of California, Riverside cordially invites all folks who self identify as Black/African American or of African descent and as as Same Gender Loving, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning or somewhere on the LGBT spectrum to apply to attend the BlaqOUT Conference on April 18-19, 2014.
If you are an ally to our communities, we encourage you to attend the QPOC Conference on May 2-3, 2014 at San Diego State University. The QPOC Conference is open to all.
Through this conference, we hope to create safe and courageous spaces that foster the discussion of issues relevant to those who self identify as Black/African American or of African communities on the LGBT spectrum. Various workshops, keynotes, and activities will be designed to unite our communities and equip us with the resources necessary to face issues that affect us as marginalized individuals.

Workshops will focus not only on internal and external injustice and oppression faced by our community, but also on how to move through the world and heal. BlaqOUT seeks to increase our knowledge about our communities and empower individuals to “Be the change….”
