We are excited to announce ....

the Annual BlaqOUT Conference is BACK!!!!

UC Riverside founder Toi Thibodeaux is hosting an online BlaqOUT Mini Summit.  Scheduled for May 14, 2022 at 12:00pm PST.

The one-day summit is a way to get people ready for the next Annual BlaqOUT Conference happening in-person.  A wishful thought brought up by students in a caucus space while attending another conference,

IS NOW A REALITY!!!!

The conference is designed to create a networking, empowerment and critical community building opportunity for folks within the Black/African Diaspora and LGBTQIA+ community.

This BlaqOUT Mini Summit will feature a number of BlaqOUT alumni keynote speakers.  ALL are welcome to attend this online event from undergraduate and graduate scholars, staff, faculty, community members and activists.  The BlaqOut Mini Summit is FREE to attend.

**HISTORY**

The BlaqOUT Conference was founded by Toi Thibodeaux of UC Riverside's LGBT Resource Center in 2014. UC Riverside hosted the first three BlaqOUT Conferences. In 2017, UC Davis hosted the 4th Annual BlaqOUT Conference.  The conference then went back home to UC Riverside.  In 2019, the 6th Annual BlaqOUT Conference traveled to a little campus in the forest and made its debut at UC Santa Cruz.  In 2020, the conference was set to travel again, UC Berkeley agreed to host the 7th Annual BlaqOUT Conference, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic the conference has been postponed happening during the 2022-2023 academic year.
